After tons of research on what our customers prefer and need, we’ve found that it all boils down to only 3 things: what do you need in the cabinets, the budget, and the timing.
Custom cabinets, as the name implies, gives you options in styles and finishes. You are able to mix and match between door styles and finishes to find the right combination for your project. Prefab cabinets have a set door style and finish and cannot be interchanged.
Custom cabinets usually cost significantly more than prefab cabinets. Prefab cabinets are mass produced which reduces the cost of production versus custom cabinets that are only produced once an order is placed
Custom cabinets usually takes 2 to 3 months to arrive while prefab cabinets only take about 1 week.
The question now comes to the quality of custom cabinets vs. prefab cabinets. Here at A1 Cabinet and Granite, we have done our research and only offer the best of both worlds. We are an authorized dealer of Diamond Cabinets which offers a limited lifetime warranty on their cabinets. Our prefab cabinets are of high quality finish, the box is made up of ½ to ¾ inch thick plywood, dovetail drawers, and NO PARTICLE BOARD is used in any of our cabinets that we offer.
For Diamond cabinets, we have a display unit where you can pick and chose the door styles and finishes, further information can be found at http://diamondcabinets.com.
